Confined Space Rescue Plant Protection

This course provides responders with the knowledge and practical skills required to safely perform rope-based rescues in confined space environments in accordance with NFPA 1006: Standard for Technical Rescue Personnel Professional Qualifications. Participants will learn hazard recognition, risk assessment, and the application of rope rescue systems for access, patient packaging, and extrication in limited-entry spaces such as tanks, vaults, and pipelines.

Training emphasizes compliance with NFPA 1006 job performance requirements (JPRs), including rope system setup, anchoring, mechanical advantage systems, lowering and raising operations, and confined space entry protocols. Students will also practice team coordination, communication, and incident management within realistic rescue scenarios.

Upon completion, participants will be able to operate safely as part of a technical rescue team, demonstrating competency in confined space rope rescue at the awareness, operations, or technician level as applicable.
